Short Bio

Gill is an experienced workplace mediator, facilitator and business coach with over 25 years work experience which have enabled her to develop the necessary skills for these roles.

Before becoming an independent consultant in 2003, Gill worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as a Principal Consultant for 5 years. She was the Change Management Team Leader for BT's implementation of their PeopleSoft HR system, which included responsibility for training over 1,000 users, communicating with 100,000 employees and teambuilding for a project team of over 100 people from BT, PwC and PeopleSoft. Other PwC projects included advising Norweb Telecom regarding employee communications issues during a company takeover; designing and project managing the implementation of an attitude survey for the Royal Navy and Training & Communications Manager for the roll-out of all PwC's global methodologies across EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).

Gill's career before PwC included both specialist and generalist HR roles with an emphasis on Human Resources Development (HRD). Gill's first role was with Sainsbury's as a shop floor manager and later Branch Personnel Manager for 4 years, before moving on to become ICL's (International Computers Limited) Graduate Recruitment Manager. She then spent 8 years with BT where she set up and led a Management Development unit for 12,000 managers and professionals, including designing and running assessment centres and gaining IEE (Institute of Electrical Engineers) and BCS (British Computer Society) accreditation for BT's training programmes. Gill also worked in the USA for 3 years for 2 BT subsidiaries, Syncordia and Concert, in HRD and Programme Management roles, including welcoming, managing and repatriating 100 BT expats. Gill worked with a rich mix of cultures when she was HRD Director for AT&T-Unisource, based in Holland, where she ran several Management Development programmes in topics such as remote management techniques, leadership development, cross-cultural awareness training and she also set up a brand new distance learning centre.

Gill is originally from Lancashire and graduated from Nottingham University with a BSc Honours degree (2:1) in Applied Biochemistry and Human Nutrition in 1983. She is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, a CEDR (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution) accredited mediator, an OCN accredited workplace mediator and a conflict coach. Gill is also qualified to use the MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator), the Saville and Holdsworth's OPQ (Occupational Personality Questionnaire), Facet 5, the SDI (Strength Deployment Inventory), the Thomas PPA (Personal Profile Analysis), and she speaks reasonable German.
